Actually, I did miscount for Firebird, it was only 20 games. DR4 played 30 games against Houdini, but only 20 against FB in your test. 20 games or 30 seem a very small amount to be making blanket judgments on tuning and strength.Tomcass wrote:For me, Test 1 (30 games) plus Test 2 (120 games) equals 150 games. But I accept that your addition gives you a different result. No problem.Albert Silver wrote:
Of course. My mistake. How could I not realize that 10 games plus 20 games equals 150 games which in turn equates to thousands of games. You got me.
Please smile and enjoy computer chess, Albert.
Tom.
In my suite (100 games), while testing time management settings, I had a 1+0 match between FB and DR4 start with 68% in favor of DR4 after the first 50 games. However, the next 50 games, it actually lost by 1%, so that the final result was only 56%, which was a perfectly usual result.
As to Houdini, it bears mentioning I have tested it and it has lost all its matches, albeit not by any large scores, consistently better than FB.
