I could be wrong about the Frequently, please bear this in mind. It was true about Rybka 3, but I don't think there has been much testing with Rybka 4.kingliveson wrote:The CPU's default clock is 3100 MHz. Here is the Motherboard which might have a little issue with that particular CPU, and not setting the Vcore appropriately. Someone on the OEM forum mentioned that CPU and Heat related issue. Am currently running a new match with above settings, but NalimovUsage is set to Frequently. So I ended it and will start over.Albert Silver wrote:Ok. You wrote it was at 3.1GHz which is an OC, albeit a very small one. My e8400 is OCed from 3.0 to 3.6 GHz, but suffers no temperature change or other modifications. Any increase beyond that and I have to start messing with the voltage, and the temps rise.kingliveson wrote:The reason for "Frequently" use is because I felt Fire had an advantage with RobboTripeBases -- default will be used for the next matches. It's a new motherboard and I haven't figured source of the crashes yet. There's high possibility RobboBases implementation is the root cause. If not Robbobases implementation, then it's other issues with Fire. The CPU is not OC'ed. Some crashes were due to decreasing vcore to reduce heat, but it was set back up.Albert Silver wrote:
It is worth mentioning that setting NalimovUsage to Frequently is quite detrimental to Rybka's performance.
BTW, the crashing may be due to the overclock, have you checked?
Here are some Fire settings I plan to test next for 40/4 and greater against Rybka 4:
† p = 100
† n = 240
† b = 280
† r = 440
† q = 860
† bp = 45
† mw = 125
† MPH = Never
As to the NalimovUsage, just to be sure, I asked the question to those who know. I'll report back when I get a reply on this.
As to the processor, well, I guess they have several models called the 6000+. Here is a reference review I looked at: Tomshardware
