I play the obvious 28.Bc4. Black has made some inaccurate moves, enough to say that I would be close to winning if I got back my handicapped rook. But as it is I'm still quite lost, though with more hope than earlier. Black's errors have not been any worse than I would expect from a typical class A player, and of course many of the moves have been much better.
Connie in fact does play the crowd pleasing..
28..Nd5

Will Connie ever get her QR into play regards?

Crowd pleasing isn't the word that leaps to mind, not if you want Larry to win or at least not lose.
This position is tough for White and the Bishop on f4 must move. Either 29. Bg5 and attack the Rook on d8 or meekly retreat to d2, not c1 as b5! is lethal by forcing exchanges. Regardless, all Bishop moves have their problems.
We'll see what Larry does. I see Black's QR liberated shortly.
I would have preferred 28...d3, that would have given white more tactics to play with . Now b5 is a threat in most cases so Bd2 seems natural but maybe a tricky Rg5 to lure Connie to play f5 but if he plays c6 ouch . White's most promising plan seems to me to push the h pawn and create more weaknesses...

I play 29.Bg5. I wanted to play 29.Be5, but I was concerned that this threat on the "d" pawn would provoke the excellent reply 29...b5! Connie would never sac a pawn like this, but if the "d" pawn might otherwise be lost she would probably do so.

The Connie will either play 29...Rd7 or Rd6... and soon bring in the QR.

Holding the Fort Regards

It's hard to see what White can do but try and hold on for dear life.
30. Bd2..Re8, although Black has plenty of options here.
I don't see the purpose of Bg5 to move the rook to d7 and then after go to d2. This allows blacks rooks to come into play and although maybe they are considered as bests by engines objectively they will not help in the conditions of this game. Maybe idea of Bg5 was to provoque f6 or keep more options and play h4-h5. Also with a rook on d7 Connie will maybe definitely reject b5 move ... Let's see
