Firebird 1.1 is very strong. At 5/3 TC it is just under Houdini and
just about even with R4.
Do you plan on testing it at longer TC.

Best,
Gerold.
What time control would you suggest that is longer?

Did you try it with my settings Gerold :!: :?:
At a longer time control it stays above Rybka and Houdini....

FireBird 1.1 Dr.Deeb I

Pawn Hash=64
Pawn Value=120
Rook Value=600
Queen Value=1170
Bishop Pair Value=70
Verification Reduction=8

8-)
Dr. Deeb- would you say your settings for Firebird induce the program to be more positional or tactical :?:
It makes it extremely aggressive yet playing very sound and strong chess 8-)
Houdini's & Rybka's butt are already kicked regards,
Dr.D
Now the REAL computer chess is starting!
I hope.
Don't forget, that Rybka 4 trounces all, in Martin Thoresons matches, so I hope those TC's were also tested with this new firebird.

And then? yes, Rybka 4 has appeared to be great, but in a few positions it looks sleepy, and doesn't seem to try. Perhaps this will now be overcome, too!?

Even now Shimon I have at least two personalities of FireBird 1.1 which are considerably stronger than FireBird 1.1 Dr.Deeb I which is already stronger than Houdini and Rybka 4....

I have tons of ideas and concepts and will provide interesting chess entities for the community....my main motivation is and still knocking out Rybka 4 and believe me it's one hell of a motivation

A very exciting times are coming ahead in the computer world :D

How in God's name is Firebird1.1 still hitting at the tablebases in infinite analysis mode? I not only changed autoload to 0, I moved the tablebases elsewhere and renamed the folder too. Everytime I analysis an endgame position it hits at the tablebases. Did fire already put it in ram? Do I need to restart my computer or something?

With your setting TC 5/3. FireBird 1.1 Vs.Houdini 1.3.
even at. 5-5-13. After 23 games. I will run about 500 games.

Best,
Gerold.

P.S. I only have one computer for testing so i don't
run long TC games.
