Very interesting is:
How strong is Crafty 23.3 JA x64 NP (No Ponder) if I compare the results with Crafty 23.3 JA x64 (with ponder). At the moment 24 ELO.

Hint:
In SWCR all engine playing with ponder (only for Umko 1.0 x64 and WB Chronos 1.99 x64 is ponder not possible).

I disagree :) In my opinion, Frank deserved a break after a full years hard work.

Hi Harun,

I had a break from 3 years :-)
I am activ since one year again after my ATL-4 league and many years I do a lot for the Arena project.

So far only the SWCR is still running.
SWCR webpages are ready. For this SWCR event is nothing more to do, only to add actual information and from time to time an interesting message in German language for my "Aktuell / Actual" page.

My work for the GERMAN chess newspaper "SCHACHWELT" ended for three months too.

At this times the SWCR is enough for me, because in the next months I don't have so many time for computer chess I had in the last months.

I will try to add more and more engines in SWCR. So far the IPP family engines, more w32 engines in die x64 list for a better calculation from the SWCR with all games (32bit and 64bit games). Then I will add more and more amateurs.

Hiarcs 13.1 w32 will started soon in SWCR-64. Bright 0.5c x64 and IvanHoe T03a x64 too. All need a bit time ...

With other words, not a lot of work I have at this moment with the SWCR because all the work with needs time is done.

Hi Harun,

list of engines I have the most fun. I like agressive computer chess, fast games, great combinations in middle game, don't like endgames.

My personal TOP-8 list so far:

01. Spark 0.5
02. Hiarcs 13.1
03. Junior 11.2
04. Stockfish 1.7.1 JA
05. Hannibal 1.0a / Twisted Logic 20100131x
06. Thinker 5.4d Inert
07. Shredder 12
08. Sjeng WC-2008

:-)

What are your top engines which play aggressive computer chess?

Hi Wael,

thanks for your comments.

I hear about a Fire setting you created. Do you think it could be test in SWCR? What is it for a setting, which version I have to use. Perhaps you can send it to me by mail. I will add it in one of the next tournaments.

Or do you think its enough to have Fire 1.31 x64 in the list. After Houdini, and Fire ... Ivanhoe will follow.

So, three IPP Familiy engines are enough, or?
What do you think?

Hi Frank,
Currently the FireBird 1.1 Dr.Deeb I x64 still tops my rating list after more than 600 games played at 20 minutes + 20 seconds increment running on an overclocked quad at 4.0GHz....fire 1.31 is far behind it and it's a lot weaker, don't waste your time with it....

The problem is that many testers run a head to head matches only, like Deep Rybka vs FireBird 1.1 Dr.Deeb I and when Rybka wins 23-17 they quit testing thinking they've achieved the uktimate truth....the testing must include a lot of chess engines playing each other in a RR tournament and then you'll see the difference....

I'll send you the FireBird 1.1 chess engine and the settings itself....make a quick test at a reasonable time control and see for yourself....even if you don't like the settings,my advice is to test FireBird 1.1 default because it's the strongest version of the program....
Cheers,
Dr.D

Then you'll like FireBird 1.1 Dr.Deeb I :D

Btw,take a look here:

Even though it's a small sample of games,it does indicate something....

Well, then, I have to agree with Wael :)

Best to you,

PS: I thought you update the computer chess pages there and I like reading them. I am wondering what the issue with Schachwelt could be?

I'd add some of my favourite engines down to the list :

Arasan

Bug2

Crafty

Critter

Doch/Komodo

Frenzee

Loop

Naum

Pharaon

and last

Scorpio

Minor thing with Loop is I am getting either illegal move or time loss in
a dead drawn positions, like only one rook per side or RB v RP on the
board etc. and I have to adj. all those games

These engines and few others not mentioned dont generally draw under 200 moves.
