I have used Arena 2.0.1 for the tests:

July-September: One or two crashes daily. The reason was the same.

Just as soon as a game is completed, Arena writes the game moves
in two files: a. tournament pgn file and b. allgames.pgn where all played
games are stored for backup purposes. Failing the second writing
task was the cause of crashes. I have found the cause, but not the cure.

In latest CET29 tests, there were only a couple crashes. And for the
latest 1+1 ones, no crash at all.

I will try later faster TCs than 1+1, without egtbs and with 4 pieces
egtbs. Some thousands of games could give me a clue whether or
when I use egtbs in my blitz testing. I should conduct 3+3, 6+6 and 9+9
TC tests to determine the starting point of the egtb effect.

Another issue is I use a new 8-half-moves book in my tests.
Instead I must select 10 or 20 positions among them and use this subset
for the tests mentioned above.

I use Arena for some of my testing.
I did have problems with 1/1 games without TB.
Now i test with 6/3 TC and have no problems.
For faster TC i use Rybka gui. However i do
like using Arena better.
