My congratulations to the Rybka team as well. Very professional and really amazing hardware. Congrats to Zach for the silver medal with Rondo - not bad - pity with the two last rounds, and to Kerwin Medina with Thinker for Bronze.

Also congrats to Dariusz Czechowski with Darmenios for best single processor performance.

By the way, what is a World Computer Software Championship? General game playing? Guess someone confused computer with chess?

Another issue, Erdo is mentioned as book author of both Rondo and Fridolin. Is that true? Is it allowed? The rules (see pdf) don't mention authors members of multiple entries.

I think this is the UNIFORM platform computer chess championship event
all programs were to run on the same hardware ..
there were two tournaments at this years Championships
the main event(no restriction on hardware) and this second one
it is all a bit confusing...

Yes, Steve, I am aware of that. In the initial announcement and rules they state:

"World Chess Software Championship" (WCSC)

which makes a bit more sense.

World Computer Software Championship could be also an Operating System Championship, what about Windows versus Linux

Hi Damir,
guess what isn't explicitly stated in the rules might be a matter of interpretation by the organizers or TD. I am not sure, but I think that (book) author of multiple engine issue was once explicitly mentioned in former ICCA/ICGA rules.

If I remember correctly Erdo was allowed to operate multiple engines in an events who were using his book. Again I think this would not have been possible, if the authors of such entries didn't gave their permission, with the permission of organizers.
If you look in China 2008 event which took place 2 years ago, you will notice that Erdo's book was both used by Falcon and Sjeng and there weren't any objections.

I see, always thought his authorship of multiple engines was somehow time multiplexed. I like Erdo a lot, but I think for one event it is a little bit problematic - even if all agree. At some point there might be a conflict of interests with some narrow line ...

It is _not_ allowed. But that's never stopped the ICGA before.

I know some famous chess engine, for examples: Stockfish, Robolito, Strelka, Fruit, Toga, and some top ranking on Computer Chess Ranking list, but why they don't attend this tournament ?
