Unfortunately a simple recompile would not do it, as sse2 is
used for atomic hastable updates when searching with multiple cores/threads.
With some work a single cpu generic version would be a possibility,
but I doubt there would be a great demand for this version.
OTOH, any chance for you to upgrade your hardware?
This is unfortunate news to me, as I had never heard of this SparkChess before.
The first public version of my Spark engine was released in the fall of 2009. When I chose the name Spark in July 2009, I googled for combinations of Spark and chess and found nothing.
According to their faq, http://www.sparkchess.com/faq.html, they changed the name of this engine from flashCHESS to SparkChess sometime in 2010:
Q: I see both SparkChess and flashCHESS mentioned. What's the difference between them?
A: They are the same product. When we created the first game engine in 2002, we called it flashCHESS. Later, in 2008 the third generation of the engine, rewritten from scatch in AS3 took the web by storm and we wanted to keep the name due to its heritage, naming it flashCHESS III. As we're improving yet again the engine, rather than call it flashCHESS IV in 2010, we decided for the name SparkChess.
Needless to say, I would have been happier if they would have chosen a different name while Spark was already out there.
And yes , this product is well known. Was awarded in 2008 by Adobe. Media Division SRL works with Adobe egineers and is an on-line chess game from many years ! http://www.sparkchess.com/licensing.html
Spark of Mr. Siemelink is only from 2009 !
Hope a trade mark is valid everywhere. Not only for Western products !
The silence of Mr.Siemelink is interesting !

Sounds like it's an error on their part then and not yours.

Hi Silvain,
It appears that neither party has the SparkChess trademark registered, or claim to have registered it.
Anyway, thank you for bringing this issue to my attention.
