You're just playing with a tiny sample size. Engines only play stronger chess without the book if book lines lead them to positions they play poorly (or they can refute current opening theory at these time controls
). Otherwise they just spend precious thinking time on opening moves that will be in book for a while anyway.

15-2-8 76% for H-1.5. 25 games played.
Like you say just to few games so far. Things are bound to change
after a few hundred games.
