Trying to connecting to scid, i've done this little game: me vs phalanx. I've used default parameters, for phalanx, selecting the proposed ELO of 1900 (i'm about 1750 ELO chess-player). Phalanx played the strange move that you can see:
What I suggest you do is give phalanx that position before the mate in 1 and give it half a minute or so, and look at the PV. If the PV gives a strange pv ignoring the mate-in-1, contact the author.

The last phalanx's move is very very strange... anybody can imagine the reason for that move?
Phalanx has a blind spot for some reason - rooks on the back rank aren't immediately obvious to it. And Scid's Tacgame feature is buggy/not very good anyway, and certainly not as good as the ELO rating stated.
I can't believe people use this feature on SCID instead of Scid vs. PC where it is much more mature. Why ?
The next version of Scid vs. PC *should* have a rewritten computer vs. player feature - similar to the serious game but including xboard engines , and minus the brain dead issues.
