In addition to Jon's suggestions:

Simplex, CuckooChess, Ifrit, Red Queen, Greko, GarboChess, Protector, Pepito, Daydreamer, OliThink.

There are probably several that I have missed.

Actually I think I was mistaken: there is a Linux binary but no source (it is closed). Only the tablebase code has been released.

Actually Sloppy is 1 CPU. I ran it in command line and it said 2 CPU detected, so I assumed it was SMP, but in fact it only parallelizes the perft calculation (which is irrelevant to playing chess). Doesn't change the results, but I can now play Sloppy's games in //, two games at a time :)

most of these are either windows only, or dont work. cuckoochess needs some java stuff to work, can't be bother, I just want a single executable :)
I'll try protector though. And Olithink seems to have problems in its xboard handling code.

I'm sure that I have misunderstood something. None of these are windows only. Jim Ablett has compiled each of these engines for both Windows and Linux. I was assuming you could do the same with the source files bundled with the executables on his site (except CuckooChess, which is in Java).

Ah yes, indeed the Jim Ablett compiles for Simplex and Greko work fine. I'll put those two on the list, after Umko has finished.
