Prédateur 2.2 Released

Julien, by the moment I will finish the 2.2 Predateur games (there are a few games left) and I'll be happy to test new versions in the near future.

The bug fixed version is about ready, but I want to take the time to test all binaries before a release, this time. And as I'm very busy with my work this week I don't know exactly when I'll be done with it. Shouldn't take ages, though ^^

cutechess-cli 0.5.0 does not like Prédateur:

Invalid UCI option from "Predateur v2.2_MacIntel" : "option name UCI_EngineAbout type String default http://predateur-chess.blogspot.com"

the UCI protocol is *case sensitive*, so "String" is incorrect. It should be "string", so cutechess-cli is right. But I guess it doesn't matter, as this should only throw a warning and not prevent it from playing.

An invalid engine option should only result in a warning message. If cutechess-cli refuses to proceed with the match then something else must be wrong too.

Hello Graham Yes, and several other bugs were fixed. Here's my current change log for Pred 2.2.1. :

- fixed the ponder mode bug
- fixed the time bug
- x32 version works again
- corrected a PST that mistakenly wasn't identical for both sides
- a few tweaks here and there
- Prédateur doesn't stop searching when it finds a mate anymore. That way it keeps searching while it still has time and maybe find a shorter one.
- made all uci options lowercase (does CuteChess still protest?)

It works perfectly on Windows but the Mac version has a small problems with the changes, so I was waiting to fix it. But because of your request I think I'll release a PC-only Pred 2.2.1 today instead (it has little strength change with Pred 2.2., so Mac users can use the previous version, as it works fine.)
