It caused general exception errors on 18 out of 53 games in my ponder=on testing with the Fritz 13 GUI. I pulled the plug on the testing.ernest wrote:...and besides 5.1 doesn't work with pondering on, in Fritz and Shredder GUIs.bupalo wrote:yes the 5.1

SUGGESTION: Quazar 0.4 x64 (by Dmitry Morozov).
Hello Ingo:
I have a suggestion: Quazar 0.4 x64 by Dmitry Morozov:
http://sites.google.com/site/chessquazar/
I have read the conditions of IPON list and I have not found a reason for not testing it. The engine is not anonymous and the name of the programmer does not seem deliberatly false. Maybe is it unstable with ponder on? It should be enough strong for your great list, because it has been tested in CCRL with great results:
http://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/4040.l ... t_all.html
In CCRL 40/40 (April 4, 2012): 2987 ± 37, with 215 games played.
-----------
http://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/404.li ... t_all.html
In CCRL 40/4 (April 7, 2012): 2991 ± 18, with 1188 games played.
In CCRL 40/40, Quazar 0.4 x64 is near of Hannibal 1.1 x64 (2755 in IPON); in CCRL 40/4, it is also near of Hannibal 1.1 x64.
***********
In CEGT 40/20 Quazar 0.4 x64 is rated 2773 ± 19 (with 736 games played); in CEGT 40/4 it is rated 2785 ± 60 (with only 100 games played). Now, Deep Shredder 12 x64 (single core) is set to 2800, the same as in IPON, so IMHO Quazar should be at least 2700 in IPON if ponder works correctly in Quazar (I do not know if it works properly of not).
I guess that Quazar is an original engine (i.e. not clone or hex-edited engine) and this is the reason of my suggestion: if I thought that Quazar is not original, I will not waste your time requesting a test for a clone.
Please keep up the good work of IPON! Thanks in advance for your attention.
Regards from Spain.
Ajedrecista.

Re: SUGGESTION: Quazar 0.4 x64 (by Dmitry Morozov).
Hallo Jesus,
First I have to say that I am a littl lazy the last weeks and missed that completly. Thx for giving the wake up call.
Besides that your proposal is more an advertisement with all the information I need. Thanks for that as well.
Then I have to thank you as you really read the infos on my web page. That is not allways a given thing.
So, it looks good. Anyone with an objection as this might be a clone ( doubt it!). If not I most likely will test it after easter.
Thx again and regards
Ingo
PS: If someone has a proposal, one can reach me directly via my web site.

Re: SUGGESTION: Quazar 0.4 x64 (by Dmitry Morozov).
Definetely agree. It seems to be an original work or - at least - "non-controversial". Quazar is playing interesting chess and very often is the only engine to find the winning move. Take a look a this example:Ajedrecista wrote:Hello Ingo:

[d]3N2r1/3Kp3/4Pk2/8/Bp6/6b1/2P5/8 b - - 0 1
The only winning move is Rxd8+
Houdini 2.0c 4CPU finds it after a very deep search. Komodo, Critter, Rybka and the rest are totally blind here! Now watch Quazar (1CPU no EGTBs!!!):
