Re: No, I am not.
Never the less, it's true, and I never heard of Microchess until these threads started. Some of the basic ideas such as alpha/beta pruning and minimax theories were born out of the Popular Science articles and then expanded upon, but that's as far as it went. Given the Dave K's in the world, and the number of Z80 processors sold and the blossoming personal computer interest at the time, I find it strange that people would think there are too many coincidences here.. I wish I could post some of the source, but as far as I know, it could have gone out with the ktty litter 20 years ago.

What do we do if Julio K registers Talkchess, now?

Not too strange... Maybe there are lot of David K, but then probably most of them put his surname in full, not just a K. Then if we select only those with computer programming skill, the list shorten somewhat more,. If we choose from this short list those who wrote a chess program, even more. Then a David K,. that write post where there is clear skill in chess programming and technical details, even and even more.
So maybe there are two or three David K with all those features and one of them should be the Kittinger. So, not so weird we can imagine you are the ONE.
If not, Ok.You are very welcome here no matter what.
I am sorry if all these guesses has perturbed or bothered you.

It hasn't perturbed or bothered me at all. I just prefer to remain mostly anonymous on the internet. In fact I don't think I will ever understand the need to be on Facebook.

Neither me. All that hoopla about social networks sounds to me as proper of a world populated by morons.
BTW, two days ago I played Majestic chess, which has an engine wrote by that David K, which is not you and I thought how much a product depends of the most uncertain factors. Majestic is entertaining and powerful and yet never had not even a fraction of the wordage lesser programs has got.
Why?
Mistery...
BTW, I lost the game....

For me it's been the ability to get back in touch with many, many people I thought were lost forever ..... and there are some fantastic aviation preservation pages on there that I thoroughly enjoy.
