Strelka 5.5 x64 still has major evaluation problems. As you can see, the best move here is 8.Nxe6 and this is the move that Deep Blue played and won the game but Strelka 5.5 doesn't "see" it, even after I let it think for 4 hours.
After 4 hours of pondering, Strelka 5.5 still wants to play 8.Ne4 but this is not the best move.

I can only see that I do not know what is the best move.
The fact that deep blue won with it against kasprov prove nothing
because kasparov did not play the best moves with black after Nxe6.

Yes Kasparov blundered by playing 8...Qe7? which is a blunder but I still think that 8.Nxe6 is the best move because 8.Ne4 is passive and leads to no advantage for white while 8.Ne6 is more aggressive move because it destroys black's kingside pawn structure and kind of traps his king in the center.Uri Blass wrote:The fact that deep blue won with it against kasprov prove nothing because kasparov did not play the best moves with black after Nxe6.
I just don't have the tools or the ability to prove that 8.Nxe6 is indeed the best move in this position.

The famous Nxe6 was a book move. Deep Blue wouldn't see it on its own either. I saw their logs and it was a book move. Unfortunately that IBM page is no longer available Deep Blue is a myth. Today's top engines would beat it easily.Uri wrote:[D] r1bqkb1r/pp1n1pp1/2p1pn1p/6N1/3P4/3B1N2/PPP2PPP/R1BQK2R w KQkq - 0 8
