I am not worried. Before H&G went into bankruptcy I made sure I got a paper with signature that all programs were mine and I did not have any obligation to them any longer.Alexander Schmidt wrote:I thought you got the permission. I remember some talking about a copy of an eprom of a mephisto machine in a german chesscomputer forum. A guy from Saitek appeared and claimed that this is a violation of copyright. Since Saitek holds the copyrights of the Mephisto machines this guy could take legal action against you and also against sites who link to you. I know that it wouldn't hurt anyone and I don't care if you offer it for download.
Looks like I am now the bad guy again for claiming copyrights... Well I couldn't care less...

BraiNKilleR's EMU news seems to be a serious, official download site for Mess...F.Huber wrote:And if you want to find the site that I mean, then just google for "mess bios" - it's already the 1st hit.
You mean something else? Why don't you post the link here?

Thanks Ed !Rebel wrote:The old Mephisto's Rebel 5.0, MM4, MM5, Mephisto Amsterdam, Dallas, Glasgow and Roma are now available as UCI engines.
You can install them in the normal way as you are used to under Arena, Chessbase, Chesspartner or any other UCI compatible chess interface.
It's nice to see the 2 old rivals playing hundreds of games against each other now in a graphical interface.

I am sure it's technical possible to make all old DOS programs UCI and/or Winboard compatible. But like the guys that created the MESSTINY interface that will be a work of years. But great fun it would be......mhalstern wrote:ED,
Thanks,
Is Rebel 9 available as a UCI. That was one of my favorites.

Sorry, but now I don't understand you anymore!?Alexander Schmidt wrote: BraiNKilleR's EMU news seems to be a serious, official download site for Mess...

You wanted me to post a link to 'official' Mephisto ROMs for MESS, and that's exactly what I've done with my hint for googling.
So what else do you expect from me?
Should I download all those ROMs from this site, make a package and send them all to you via email?
Or should I even come to your home and install them for you?

Hmmm. Is this a joke or something?
I get a logo which says "REBEL 1980" in place of the standard ChessUSA logo.
Must be my machine or something.
(Can't provide a screenshot, the RPi doesn't come with such luxuries)
