I wonder how u got the permission to offer the Glasgow roms for download

I thought you got the permission. Some already tried to contact Nitsche and Henne but failed and I was happy the roms for this jewel are now available.

I remember some talking about a copy of an eprom of a mephisto machine in a german chesscomputer forum. A guy from Saitek appeared and claimed that this is a violation of copyright. Since Saitek holds the copyrights of the Mephisto machines this guy could take legal action against you and also against sites who link to you. I know that it wouldn't hurt anyone and I don't care if you offer it for download.

Looks like I am now the bad guy again for claiming copyrights... Well I couldn't care less...

I am not worried. Before H&G went into bankruptcy I made sure I got a paper with signature that all programs were mine and I did not have any obligation to them any longer.

The old Mephisto's Rebel 5.0, MM4, MM5, Mephisto Amsterdam, Dallas, Glasgow and Roma are now available as UCI engines.

You can install them in the normal way as you are used to under Arena, Chessbase, Chesspartner or any other UCI compatible chess interface.

It's nice to see the 2 old rivals playing hundreds of games against each other now in a graphical interface.

Is Rebel 9 available as a UCI. That was one of my favorites.

I am sure it's technical possible to make all old DOS programs UCI and/or Winboard compatible. But like the guys that created the MESSTINY interface that will be a work of years. But great fun it would be......

So what else do you expect from me?
Should I download all those ROMs from this site, make a package and send them all to you via email?

Why don't u just post the link? Google gives different search results for different people. You should know that.

I get a logo which says "REBEL 1980" in place of the standard ChessUSA logo.

Must be my machine or something.
