Very nice game
This 10.g4!? played by Delphil is really promising
As Philippe Fabiani said, author of Delphil, the idea is :
- Sacrifice the b2 pawn
- Play Be3 for d pawn
- Play Kh1 for king safety.
- Push f4-f5-f6
- d4,e5,d5,e6 must stay controled in the center.
He said that before this game and Loonie is doing it well

23) Nf5
I remember looking at 22) ... Bxf6 yesterday and Critter did not like it.
eval stands at +1.55

I think white in general has a huge advantage right from the get go and it's a tough battle whatever direction black veers off into. White has tremendous space, development and black is very cramped with no offense potential for the position presented. It looks like Delphil would make an exciting engine to play with as a human.gleperlier wrote:Very nice game![]()

This is the kind of features I value on an engine: I don't mind it to be 2900 or 2950, and actually I'd trade some tenths of elo points for moves like this g4 during the opening.
Two first meanings of the dutch word "leren":
1. leren [vc] (learn, larn, acquire) acquire or gain knowledge or skills.
2. leren [v] (teach, learn, instruct) impart skills or knowledge to.

Re: [CC] Loonie versus Mc Mad
The funny thing is that most of the engines I have treat 23) Nf5 like = or so but Deep Junior,Rybka,Shredder and especially Chess Tiger which goes absolutely nuts for this move at +3.98. I think Nf5 is definitely the right move. It just keeps pushing and pushing.Kingghidorah wrote:23) Nf5

Please tell me, because I am confused. Where is this chess game being played? How do you and your opponent see the move made you have to reply to? Whether humans or engines are playing- please tell me that every move of the game is not being posted here in separate threads., ie a thread for each move.

We're playing it on our own computers with Mc Mad being in the UK and me being in CT,USA. We then just post the moves via text and diagram to talkchess.com.
like if he moved 23) ... Qd6 which he would not. Diagram would be like this and you always put [d] for diagram to the left of the FEN text to make the diagram appear in talkchess forum.
