Hi all
after my Engine Festival 2012 I started a Houdini 3 gauntlet. Opponents are the first 5 engines after Houdini.
Time controll is very long, a game can last 8 hrs. max.
Again 4 cpu and ponder ON.
Informations and live games transmission can be found on my webpage.
I use 2 quad machine for this gauntlets, Houdini 3 is loaded remotely with netchess.
enjoy

Great Clemens, very nice plydepth you reach for Houdini 3, from 25 to 29 in the middlegame. Can you give the Fritzbenchmark of your configuration ?

Hi Clemens,
Your tournaments are always interesting, thanks.
I would like to ask you a thing. I see that in all your tournaments you don't use Large Pages. I've seen this also in the new TCEC tournament.
I wonder if there's a motive behind why some testers don't want to use Large Pages. It is just for a sort of equality between all engines (as those that don't support them) or there's something else I don't know that concerns the use of LP for the engines?

My friend Fabio let me comment.
Microsoft itself says that the allocation of large pages is a lottery.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... s.85).aspx
I think for equality is the best option.
In my betas always plugged compiled without the option, so is it any of my engines will access them.
Besides having a Ram optimizer real time, clear the memory before a test,
I use jetclean freeware:
http://www.bluesprig.com/jetclean.html
And according to Clemens tournaments are very interesting.

Hello
I had upload problems. I searched for the problem as long as all data was lost
The Gauntlet is now again started from zero.! I hope it works fine now .
Best regards, Clemens Keck

Hello Fabio
indeed is large pages an intresting feature. I dont use it because it is not relieable in a tournament that lp is working all the time. Next reason: In this gauntlet I load houdini with netchess in a gui on the second pc. I cannot get lp working this way

Hi ALL
a strong defense game. Rybka seems lost but had a nice fortress:
