It looks like I was way too quick to jump to a conclusion from a small test. Mostly because, as a big fan of open-source engines, I wanted to see a stronger SF. :cry:

I've compiled the new one and it seems quite cool, I think the difference is minimal

My friend, I have been there as well. We all learn from our mistakes. I used to chase that "magic bullet"- something no one else had found. Until I realized "what are the chances I will find something huge that the programmers overlooked- something that really made the 'looking for' worth it." Since luck is a non-factor here, it meant I had to be smarter than the programmer. And what were the chances of that?

I laugh when I see 15 Stockfish versions in a rating list. They, too will learn in time.
