Granted it is not as strong as his 300413, which at this moment seems to be the strongest and played within 3 elo of Strelka 5.6. However, its performance here against PPs Ivanhoe 46h is not something to be taken lightly. He is actually doing more with Stockfish than I would have thought possible.

As I said, version 300413 is his strongest at the moment. Not just his strongest, but THE strongest- by anyone. I would be willing to bet the version above does not even come in as his No.2, but he would have to answer that.
Uri, I definitely have an open mind and would love to test it- but I am not sure of exactly which one you mean. You need to be more specific. I want to test it myself, because personally I believe running 2 versions of Stockfish against each other, or 2 versions of any engine against each other- is far from the ideal way to go. As far as I am concerned- it basically tells you not one damn thing you can hang a hat on- unless one is at least a couple hundred elo over the other.
Much better would be the way I would do it- by running this one you speak of, and Jean Paul's on the same machine against a common opponent. That is the best way.
If you don't mind- be way more specific about which one you speak of. I want to be sure I have the right one before I run 100 or 200 games.
I can't wade thru all that info- help me locate the right version. I still doubt very seriously it can play even with Strelka 5.6 as 300413 can do- but I am ready to be corrected if it can. I would like to start it right now- if I knew which one exactly to use.
Thank you very much, Koh. But let me ask you this. When you say you "believe" this is it, are you sure enough that you think I could go ahead and run the matches now- or do you think I should wait for confirmation from him or Gary or whatever. Tell me what you think would be best.
My Norton AV (granted, not the best anymore) identifies this file as a "threat" named WS.Reputation.1
Norton may well be wrong, but I do wonder why the heck it would misidentify it in the first place.

I am not sure- and I certainly appreciate you telling me this. But if it makes you feel any better, McAfee scans every download of mine and saw this one as ok. If it didn't, it would have warnings plastered all over the screen. But maybe McAfee missed something that Norton picked up. Tough call either way- but thank you.
All the best,
george
PS: I had put it in a folder and I opened the folder and scanned the exe again. McAfee again found no issues with it. But don't just go by what I say. Maybe it is better to err on the side of caution.

But again, I go back to what he said about he "believes" this is the right one. I am not 100% sure I want to start running 200 or so games based on what he is not actually sure of. Tho I certainly appreciate his input for sure.
