Other open-source developers ought to adopt the Stockfish testing framework, which is available. It should be possible to test other engines using that framework. Can Stockfish' new testing framework keep up with this? And how will other programmers manage in this compettition, and what will the situation be in september when Martin is planning a new tournament?

Hmm.... glad that Mr Houdart confirmed at least one thing about Houdini 3, that I've suspected for some time.... Default Contempt 1 is NOT the strongest !
...its simply suicide especially if one is playing with the Black pieces against an equally or slightly stronger opponent !

Looking forward to Houdini 4. The big question is will an engine be able to overcome Houdini 3 before Houdini 4 arrives?

Hmm..actually the latest versions of Stockfish are already able to beat H3 in long-time control games quite frequently...not sure though....needs more Testing by the professional Testers here.Leto wrote:Looking forward to Houdini 4. Re: Interview with Robert Houdart
Not likely. It has been demonstrated many times over the years that engines don't benefit much from the longer time controls. If engine X performs 50 elo higher than engine Z at blitz, chances are very good that engine X will also perform around 50 elo higher than engine Z at longer time controls.shrapnel wrote:Hmm..actually the latest versions of Stockfish are already able to beat H3 in long-time control games quite frequently...not sure though....needs more Testing by the professional Testers here.Leto wrote:Looking forward to Houdini 4.
