The final round pits Junior with 7 points against its nearest rival Jonny with 6.5 points on 2400 cores! The sparks are sure to fly, with a good chance for an amateur upset!

Three years of development is a long time though, if you look at other top or near-top engines.
Hopefully Johannes might bless enthusiasts with a further release, otherwise the engine holds little interest to many of us.

It would be good to see a non-commercial engine win. Go Jonny !!

So Hiarcs got 3rd in the unlimited hardware section of the world championship behind Junior on 24/48 cores and Jonny on 2400. Congratulations to Amir, Shay and johannes.

3 rounds to go in the uniform platform event and Hiarcs leads by 1 point.

Looks like Junior was very canny to trade a piece for the two passers earlier, and trading off material in such a way that Junior could keep a fortress against the extra piece. All my engines see to the distant horizon is a piece for two pawns: no breakthrough possible.

Congratulations to Amir Ban for his second consecutive WCCC title!

Pandix just won a very nice closed maneuvering endgame against Hiarcs in the Software Championship. With that upset, the Software Championship is a tossup:

Hiarcs 6.5
Junior 6
Jonny 5.5
Pandix 5.5

with the last round:

Junior vs Hiarcs
Pandix vs Jonny

Anyone could win!

Not correct. Only Hiarcs or Junior can win.
