It's a question of time the group of programmers are building a new organisation and kick out ICGA. Better ICGA get younger helpers with fresh get-up-and-go.

Why do you assume that we need another organization? We don't need any organization. We have something far greater and more useful, and despite what some dinosaurs will have you believe, is the only thing that has made CC progress in the last 20 years. Can you guess what it is? Internet, that's right!

According to ICGA rule #2, if I make a program based on SF, will I be able to participate in in WCCC? No na?

Hi Lucas,

I am thinking in this point more professional.
Franck ZIBI and his Handy ... WM in London :-))
The only way to get more Information are the Handy from Franck ZIBI. 8.000 different visitors daily on my page, some years ago.

What for a great organisation from our ICGA ...
Nothing the guys from ICGA do here.

Today I am thinking that if professionals create a good Organisation Computer chess are Standing much more in public interest.

We don't need any ... that's the wrong way so many will go and the result is nothing as words.

OH yes, we need more as in the years before!
Professional helps and not lone fighter.

You can have it for 1.000.000 US Dollar and not for 100.000 ...
Professionals working in other dimensions as lone fighter have in brains. Such people we are needing.

Again ... Computer chess need professionals!
One of the main Problems in the past, we don't have it.

Best

Proffesional this, professional that…

You don't realize it perhaps, but CC has only made progress through the sharing of ideas and source code. Professionals want to prevent that sharing and obtain a monopoly. The less there are, the more progress CC will make.

It would be if Stockfish and Komodo participated. So you are confusing cause and effect here. Fact is that Stockfish also was not prepared to participate in WCCC (or in fact any tournament) long before it could say the opponents were not worth it, when in fact its chances to make second place were slim indeed. So it has nothing to do with the quality of the opposition; Stockfish would not compete no matter what.

What you say is just an argument of convenience, to justify your personal attitude towards OTB tournaments.

Sure it will. You would be participating on behalf of all Stockfish authors, though. Not just yourself.

Who cares about WCCC?

there are some reasons not to play for most of us.

1. to expensive to travel to far countries without sponsors that don't support you to play.

2. it makes not sense to play with UN-EQUAL hardwares, where one is playing with 1 core or max 32 cores and one comes and playing with 1000 cores or even more, thats unfair against others and of course that who has more cores will sure win.

3. the rules are to hard and let you do step back from it, because you don't know what they will do with your source code to check it. Some of us programmers (not open sources) will not allow to show at your source code.
