Oh I missed to add,
All engines are played as 1 core with ponder on
And here are the blitz time controls, used mainly for the current rating:
- SCCT Auto232 Tournament 2012 (i7 920 3.30 GHz/QX9650 3.66GHz) = 4m+2s
- SCCT Open-Source Rating 2014 (i7 980X 3.30 GHz/ i7 970 3.20GHz) = 3m+2s
- SCCT Scratch Rating 2014 (i7 980X 3.30 GHz/ i7 970 3.20GHz) = 3m+1s

TC as 3 minutes are used mainly between the dates:
26.12.2014 - 23.01.2015

And due to often time forfeits by a few engines (with 3 Min per side)
I decided to switch again to fisher time control 3m+1s per side

In other words,
Mostly of the games are played at fisher time control
And with the current conditions: we see less time forfeits...)!

Btw,
After playing new 97 games, Deuterium v14.3 ARM plays without any problem so far...very good )!

What a pity,
Deuterium v14.3 ARM again crashed...(so far already 3 times happened)

Note that after this moment the tournament is stopping completely
That's why Deuterium v14.3 ARM test is canceled...

And here is a screenshot when Deuterium v14.3 ARM is crashed:

From your other post.

Correct me if I am wrong, I assume you test it at TC 3+1 with ponder on.
May I know too what device is this where you run Deuterium, and which engine is the opponent, I want to try it in my device. Thanks.

The opponent was Texel 1.05 (shown in the picture)

Yes, I already stated several times, once more I say: 3m+1sec

Note that your engine crashed against 3 different participants

In my opinion,
My used conditions are not the problem or the reason about why your engine is crashing...

I am using 2 devices:
Cortex A7 Dual-Core 1.5GHz.
Samsung Galaxy S4 1.90GHz

Did Texel uses EGTB?

Can you name the other two participants.

Can you give the RAM of this device?

Look I am determined to solve the crash. Can you upload the pgn file?

Thanks for replays...and I know that you want to help...good )

Ok, here is more info:
I installed all 4 men tablebases (gtb, nalimov, syzygy)
cdcard/syzygy
cdcard/gtb
cdcard/nalimov

As far as I remember,
The previous opponent was Cheng4 0.38 ARM
But the second crash I can not remember now with which opponent was...

Those crashed games are not saving...that's why I can not publish...sorry
Of course, the normal games are saving to tour.pgn, if you need them I will upload them as soon as possible...

My both devices include 1 GB ram
That's why 32 MB hash can not be the reason...

Btw, another crash, but this time by Komodo 8 (the opponent was HoudiCrit)

It looks like there is something wrong...maybe this a GUI bug...or engine bug, not sure why...

Note also that Komodo 8 ARM can not use syzygy, normally I installed syzygy:
cdcard/syzygy

For example, HoudiCrit, Stockfish, Texel etc... can use the endgames, where Komodo 8 can not... strange

And here is the screenshot, where Komodo 8 crashed:

And here are the games, played on my 2nd device (Cortex A7):
http://www.sedatcanbaz.com/chess/games/tour.rar

Just I'd like to mention,
Komodo 8 ARM (after 900 games only once time crashed...)
Deuterium v14.3 ARM in approx. 200 games: 3 times crashed...
The problem is that: after crashing...the whole tournament is stopping...
This is a problem...many time is wasting...

I have not installed any of them so far I think it is time now.

I have seen at least 3 opponents in the latest uploaded pgn file, these are Cheng, Discocheck and Texel.

I checked the file and found 2 games where something had really happened and CFA is able to save those. Here are the games.

Code: Select all

[Event "Chess for Android Tournament"]
[Site "United States"]

[Round "11"]
[White "Deuterium v14.3 ARM"]
[Black "DiscoCheck 5.2.1 ARM"]
[Result "0-1"]
[TimeControl "180+1"]
[EventDate "2015.??.??"]
[PlyCount "10"]

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 e6 5. Nc3 Qc7 { from PGN 0.011 } 0-1

[Black "Deuterium v14.3 ARM"]

I have 1GB RAM in my device, and without opening other apps, (some apps are running in background of course) I monitored my free RAM is only 435 mb. I use OS monitor android app. My device is Lenovo A7-30 A3300, Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7, 1 GB RAM.
I understand that each device may have different free RAM after restart for example. I run android engines at 16mb hash, because some engines may have table memory, pawn hash, eval hash and perhaps there are others. Looking at CFA we can only set the main hash, and there is also the egtb memory. In Deuterium I have main hash 16mb (default), evalhash 8mb (default), pawnhash 2mb (default) and kingandpawnhash 2mb (default) and I disabled egbb in ARM. For non-ARM my defaults are bigger. Now what do we know of other engines? For winboard engines how big RAM they are using, I can measure it using OS monitor app of course.
I would suggest for devices with 1GB RAM, use a hash at 16mb.
I will try to document perhaps some android engines regarding the amount of default memory they are using

I agree, I would suggest to stop running Deuterium since this is not stable in your devices.

Somehow Aart will be able to solve these problems on CFA side, for example, if the engine crashed just record it as a loss due to crash, and would be able to continue the tourney if the engine would still respond by quit command, and restart the engine. Same with time losses - quit and restart the engine and continue the tourney. Make a counter and if this happened 3x for same engine, stop the tourney and display a message why the tourney has been stopped, the user then will not include such engine in future tourneys.

Well...just a few minutes ago I switched back to the factory settings of my 2nd device (Cortex A7)
Because those crashes were appeared on the above device

And for all engines I set your recommended hashtable size:
16 MB / 4 MB tb cache

And what a pity that,
Komodo 8 still crashes...

Btw, finely I solved Komodo 8's endgames issue,
Before K8 could not to use, because the default option was OFF

Ah one thing more,
In the beginning, I used 128 MB Hash and I will switch again to 128MB, lets see what will happen
And note also that mostly of K8's games are played on my Samsung Galaxy S4

Otherwise,
I need to use only my Samsung Galaxy s4 (in case of running Chess for Android + Komodo and your engine)

Best,
Sedat
