High quality Computer Chess databases?

Hi for all,

One Super-GM once told me that Anand receives 20,000 Computer chess games weekly! This explains his rise lately.

Can any one please guide me from where I can download (or buy) high quality computer-chess games under conditions similar to TCEC for example in terms of machine power, selected engines and long time control.

While I am not looking for it for same reasons as Anand, but having chess enthusiastic might justify my request.

Curious. I suppose that is trying to get a Monte-Carlo like tree of games. I had this idea some time ago.

I don't think this explains his rise lately. It will come as no surprise that he has had access to these kind of games for several years.

He is a 5x World Champion so why should anyone be surprised he is now 2800+ again and back to number 2 in the world?

As far as I know, Monte-Carlo analyzing method is supported only by Rybka which is already out-dated. One More thing is that building a tree using this method can be misleading, as you might choose a high-percentage move which leads ultimately to a losing position!

I didn't say it is a surprise. The point is that he is the only "old guard" who is (at least) matching the young generation.

On the highest level, human chess is recently about novelties and reaction to novelties. That's why a vast engine database can change the course of events. It can contain answers to unasked questions!
