Does anyone know how to setup a position in Fritz 13/14 and then have 2 engines play out the rest of the game?
I know this is easy with Aquarium.
Thanks,

Re: Position Setup
Hello Jason,
cf. http://download.chessbase.com/download/pdf/df14/eng.pdf please
page 13 "Position Setup" - page 191 "Engine matches" - page 221 "Engines" are the important sections of this online-manual in reference to your question
For special setup positions a separate database can be created, so you don´t have to input the same constellation twice during a later match engine vs. engine
info@chessbase.com is the email-address of the ChessBase support-Team
please check the Deep Fritz-GUI for further updates after successful activation - WinBoard compatible engines can be embedded via
WB2UCI http://web.archive.org/web/200912291924 ... akk/Wb2Uci
http://web.archive.org/web/201307210647 ... engine.htm
http://americanfoot.free.fr/echecs/suisse/fichiers.htm with a lot of examples (wbconf.zip = lien de téléchargement)
Best wishes,
Norbert

Re: Position Setup
Jason : Unfortunately I can't help you with your query about organising an
engine match on Fritz but I wonder if I could ask you what engines are on
your Aquarium programme. The only two I have are Crafty and Houdini 4
Pro B. Is that the same for you?
Thanks

Re: Position Setup
Thanks for that. I sometimes play Aquarium against Stockfish 6 and it
struggles to maintain equality.

Re: Position Setup
To setup a position, goto home tab then press newgame then position setup (s). Once completed save it to pgn file or cbh file, remember this file, because you are going to use this to run the two engines.cc2150dx wrote:Does anyone know how to setup a position in Fritz 13/14 and then have 2 engines play out the rest of the game?

To run 2 engines on this setup, goto engine tab, then engine match. In the database list under engine vs engine window, select the file that you have just saved, and enable the use checkbox. Select your desired engine and TC. Then run the engine match.

It's too bad that Chessbase didn't make this easier to do.

Re: Position Setup
Of course you can select the Analysis tab, then "Shootout" if you just want an engine to play out the position.
That's not really what you asked, but ...
