It would actually be a shame if all the work of komodo/SF in 1-2 years was already done in Gull 3 a long time ago.
If you look in any field of life many things done in the past are still superior to today's handling of matters.
For example: Has technology made people's lives simpler?
People are now hounded 24/7 because they are tethered to their work, interests or their social skills are seriously eroded. Neck strain instead of keeping their head up talking to someone is a boom for chiropractors.
I go to the gym 5X's a week and most people can not even hold a conversation for a minute. They are so busy picking out a song to do an exercise or looking at something on their web phone that they are accomplishing a non existent goal in their mind. I started working out again after a 4 year lay over in life and I was already in better shape than 99%of these people and I will be 54 in Dec. After a couple months and muscle memory I am making great gains in definition and mass plus biking 11-12 miles and walking 1.5+/ day.
I was talking to a guy with a hip replacement and a partial knee replacement and I asked him did you just get through doing leg extensions (bad, sheer force on the knee joint). He said yeah; I said do NOT do that exercise, especially if you have bad knees never mind healthy ones. Upright rows, behind the neck presses, pulldowns to the neck & Squats on a Smith Machine. ANyone should know this as the info is out there. I will not even go into Tanning booths.
I went off a little on the health side but you get my point hopefully.
Dating sites? Shit, all I have to do is go shop at a grocery store, Walmart, library and (drum roll) TALK, communiv=cate with someone and I can get a date but this is impossible for someone who lives behind a screen and believe me I live behind one too so I know.
I have an Analog AND Digital mind as do some of us on here so it gives you an age. Having just a digital mind outs you in a hole.
What happens when you can not fix Windows or Linux in GUI mode?? I know DOS cause that is where I started so I am not completely lost. I do not know syntactic Unix/Linux but I guarantee the Ken Thompson devotee will solve his problem if Ubuntu fails and it does cause I know and have had it happen.
This books explains this but I have seen it in real life for decades now,
