http://www.synapse-chess.com/test-synapse-rz4-8-series/ considering its very good performance, I think Synapse could enter the next TCEC season with very high chances to win it!

The author of hiarcs has stated on their forum that H15 won't be ready until Spring 2016, so that's one to cross off the list.

After all, what's the point of keeping them secret?

Marketing hype I'd guess.

Now that TCEC 8 Season is over, can you reveal us the name of those 2 engines that could compete for the number 1 spot?

They had Deep Junior in the contest.
It crashed right and left.

Meanwhile we know that Fritz 15 is a UCI engine, continuing the legacy of Rybka.

The general rule seems to be that "discontinued" engines like Critter or Naum are not invited anymore, except for Houdini 4 and maybe Gull 3 which are top-4. - If new versions of Hiarcs and Junior appear, I think they will certainly have a go.

Another interesting contender may be Jonny (7.x) which made a huge Elo jump recently.
