Hey Sven , now Isa with your fix ( check Incheck before qs) shows the mate before old isa in pv , seems an improvement Thx again Sven ! 😊

Yes I'd better have created another thread. This is about the 'Henks idea' mentioned at the start of this thread and your reaction about adding at least PSQ but that reduces tactical strength for Skipper.

Ok but if you my first post , it was not exactly the subject .
I removed all the parameters from my eval just to see the depth I can reach with material only.
Now I test the sven's fix with a primitive small eval : material, pst, isolated and doubled, rooks on open file .
This Isa is ahead for the moment .

But you don't score lower on the WAC test if you only use material + psq instead of material only ?

For testing Isa I play games against some engines and vs previous versions of Isa .I don't test with positions .I'll test with Wac , Sts, LCTII etc... when I'll have a decent eval function.
I think playing games is better for testing an engine in développement.

Our hobby is very dificult , Henk , it need à lot of patience and a good methodology but ... it is just a game also 😉
