This thread just started with a bad and stupid joke of mine which you did not understand. So if you had not replied ... talking about wasting time.

Nightmare was very unlucky the previous tournament, this time things went better.
The game with black against Waduuttie was a win straight out of book, this was no special preparation by me but just mere luck.
Normally I would expect a difficult game with black because both engines are about the same in strength.

In the game with black against Fizbo I expected a draw for a very long time, but in the end Fizbo got a very dangerous passer that Nightmare could not cope with.
I was very surprised that the game suddenly became a draw by repetition, probably there is a table-base bug at stake here.

Sometimes you're lucky and sometimes you don't, playing a Swiss tournament with very few games is more like a tombola!

Texel (named after a Dutch island) did very well, clearly the strongest engine in this tourney, combined with 24 cores he out-calculated everyone.
A very well deserved victory, my congrats to Texel!

As always, a fun tournament. Myrddin played pretty well, which is just luck since I haven't done any development on it in more than a year. But I am pretty sure that this is the first time Myrddin has beaten Crafty in a tournament, so that's a nice milestone. Myrddin was playing with 4 cores and Crafty's notes said it was v25.1 with 20 cores!

In the WaDuuttie - Nightmare game, WaDuuttie was out of book in this position:
[d]5rk1/5pp1/2pbr2p/1p1n3q/3P2b1/1BP1B1P1/1P1N1P1P/R3RQK1 w - - 0 21
He played a few reasonable moves until in this position
[d]6k1/5pp1/3br2p/Q2p3q/3P2b1/2P1B1P1/1r1N1P1P/R3R1K1 w - - 0 24
he came with the tempting Ra2 ?? (Rab1 seems better). Nightmare still followed his book until
[d]1Q3bk1/5pp1/7p/3p4/3P2qP/2P1Bb2/3R1P1K/4R3 w - - 1 31
were WaDuuttie should have resigned (but that option was not enabled).
