Sorry to bother you again,
anyone knows how to see the "log" in Crafty GUI?
I mean, what you could see using F4 in Arena, the complete dialog between engines and GUI).
I ask for Crafty cause it is the more intuitive for me, I´m become crazy trying to understand how to deal with Arena.
Thanks.

Re: Log files
Not sure what you mean "in crafty GUI" since Crafty doesn't have one. In any case, if you do not have "log off" or "log=off" in your crafty.rc/.craftyrc file, you will see files named log.nnn where the highest non is the most recent log. All search output and such goes there...Luis Babboni wrote:Sorry to bother you again,

Re: Log files
It seems I found how to do it!!
That Crafty GUI uses by default a Crafty engine that seems to not have that "log on", so in the folder of this Crafty that comes with the Crafty GUI, there is no log.nn at all.
I deleted this Crafty and point the GUI to another Crafty downloaded independently that seems to have this "log on" (somewhere) and now in the folder of this Crafty appears that log.nn I looking for!!
The comment from Bob made me think that could be happens what seems to happens!
Thanks!

Re: Log files
Certainly is not a part of the crafty project. Not sure who writes it, or anything about it since I have not used it.Luis Babboni wrote:This is not known as Crafty GUI?:bob wrote:Not sure what you mean "in crafty GUI" since Crafty doesn't have one. Re: Log files
Since that's what they call it, I guess it is. Possibly they've combined Winboard with an old version of Crafty (22.x?). I'm not going to download it - It looks unsafe.Luis Babboni wrote:This is not known as Crafty GUI?:

Deasil is the right way to go.

Crafty Chess Interface author is Valters Baumanis from Jūrmala / Latviabob wrote: Certainly is not a part of the crafty project. Not sure who writes it, or anything about it since I have not used it.

If you look a little you'll see that it is totally different to WinBoard GUI,
open source support UCI and any engine can be installed,
allowing match between two engines.
Very nice, the only thing that I find is the inability of starting games with positions, which I prefer to the books.
Bob knows nothing about this, but on the page http://www.craftychess.com/ has a link.
Maybe this page is not official, I don't know.
