testing new crafty version...

Post by MikeB »

Tracy Reigle has sent some changes that look very promising crafty-25.1bT12

Feel free to follow along as we test the new version, we have 65,000 games scheduled to kick today today at tc 6 sec /.1 sec using Bob's GUI-less testing scripts/

testing results

This run will take about 36 hours.

The automatic script generation are still running, games will start in about 15 minutes. Updates every 5 minutes once it kickoffs.

Nice!
Why Stockfish 160226 64bit is so much weaker than the other Stockfishs in your list?

That is version SF 2.3.1 - we chose that old version specifically because it is closer to Crafty's strength than more recent versions - it just happened to be compiled recently.

Stockfish 2.3.1 is also buggy. If I remember it correctly Marek mentioned that Sting is based on Stockfish 2.3.1 and he is cleaning lots of bugs Stockfish 2.3.1 has in Sting..

It doesn't matter. It's consistently buggy. All engines have some bugs - except maybe TSCP.

Sorry - should have been more clear - it's was developmental version tweaked from the previous master v25.1b. Tracey changes did passed the test and was made the new master to 25.1c, We are thinking about releasing the next Crafty version in a few months - we hope to get few more ELO before then.

BTW, we had some nasty storm blow through here about 2PM, knocking the Mac Pro off the grid, but Tracey's version was doing up well to that point.
