Since this subject doesn't seem to go away, the split (Graham's poll) is about 50-50, the mods are silent giving the impression that's it guys, live with it another poll with (I think) a reasonable proposal.

Well I thought we already had decided for option 2 and we just have to await
the end of the timeline of the first poll ;-)

This is not a fair poll. It's along the lines of "would you like to cut off your head or would you prefer to just cut off your nose?"
Deasil is the right way to go.
