The 6900k compares favorably to the 5960X, it has a 200 MHz. higher clock and a somewhat better IPC, for me it is not an option because it won't be much faster than the 5960X I already have.
The 6950X is too expensive, not that I can't afford it, but I'm not willing to pay 1750,- euro for a single CPU that is ~24% faster than the one I currently have.

The 2687W v4 actually has 12 cores at 3.0 GHz. and is the fastest CPU to date, a system with two of these will be killing! I guess I have to wait a bit till the euro goes up or the dollar goes down.
21% FAT is also a problem over here, I can try to reclaim it from the tax-office, I did this several times in the past, but at a certain point they won't accept this anymore.

Personally I don't trust these offers, they sell them for a quarter of the original cost, there must be something wrong with these chips or they send you a box with a few bricks in it.

I was going to buy a Intel 6950x also but couldn't swallow the huge price increase so I ended up buying 2 Intel Xeons E5- 2698 v4 off of Ebay for $2500. 40 real cores and 80 treads should be fun. Package should arrive this week but still looking for new Asus dual motherboards to be released this month.

That is a bunch of bull. You immediately suspect something is wrong with them? I've had no issues with any of the chips that I've bought off of ebay. It's people spending 1700 dollars for some inferior 6950X chip who get royally screwed when I can spend half of that cost or more and get far more performance.

Asus said none of their dual boards support Xeon v4, I'm sure they will release bios updates to add support, representative told me they will releasing new dual motherboards soon but couldn't give me a release date, model number, etc. When looking online the dual cpu motherboards are out of stock also the sound card ASUS Xonar Essence STX II 7.1-channel is out of stock and the 2 channel card now has a rebate, making me belive new sound cards could be also released.

Yes I suspect something is wrong with these chips, nobody is going to sell chips that are released just a few months ago for less than a quarter of the original price, maybe they dropped of a trailer who knows?
At least I'm not going to take the risk.
