are MS-DOS versions of Crafty/GNUChess available that still run with D-Fend-Reloaded ?
Best wishes,

Re: Crafty and GNUChess under MS-DOS?
Hi Norbert,
the GNU Chess 1987 version from Stuart Cracraft does.
you may use options, sample: gnuchess.exe 40 10 to set 40 moves in 10 minutes; then commands described in the .doc file included.
Most useful ones are 'easy' to toggle ponder on (default is off, default applies each new game) and 'switch' to let GnuChess play white.
You will need to enter moves with algebraic notation. Later versions with mouse control will require Win3.1 over MS-DOS layer.
Hope this helps,
Eric
