My smartphone 4 cores (LG-G3) is about the same power as the Intel CPU with 1 core. That would be way stronger than a GM (even a top GM).

For those that want to watch, use this link Saturday at noon EST:

I think Larry will make a video appearance as well. There is a schedule on the same page.

The performance of Pocket Fritz 3 (Hiarcs 12.1 engine) in Argentina is 2690 elo

http://theweekinchess.com/html/twic718.html

The performance of Pocket Fritz 4 (Hiarcs 13 engine) in Argentina is 2938 elo

ttp://en.chessbase.com/post/breakthrough-performance-by-pocket-fritz-4-in-buenos-aires

Average elo performance of Pocket Fritz (3-4) is: 2814 elo with 20 kn/s

Komodo 10 will play with 1.36 million kn/s ( 3’+1” time control). The kn of Komodo 10 is 2x of Pocket Fritz (for total of the match)

I'd be very Surprised If Komodo 10 doesn’t win with 4-0 score.

Maybe in theory elo of Komodo 10 is 2850 with this match condition (according to Kai) but I think elo of Komodo is 3000+ elo (for this match condition)

I think Komodo is especially good without a book. Some engines may make very committal opening blunders, but Komodo is pretty sane in the opening and will tend to look less for tactical advantages and plays more positional moves ... that is important in the opening. Of course a human can study the engine and build a very strong opening repertoire ... add to this the fact that this is a single core machine ... and thus much more deterministic choice of moves ... a well prepared human that has done his homework should easily beat Komodo with these conditions. I doubt this will happen though as it would take a huge amount of time and preparation effort on the humans part.

First game for Komodo. It looks like Yermolinsky wasn't up to date on the dynamics of the match. He didn't know how much time was left, that Erenburg was allowed bathroom breaks, how much were the prizes for him, whether the game had ended...

Komodo plays on one core of an I7 laptop.
