He was the one responsible for the official target builds of Stockfish 8, so there is nothing wrong with calling them "Kiran's compiles". As for the fastest Stockfish build it is actually asmFish. But hey - whatever floats your boat as they say.
asmFish is not a "build" it is a translation. But you'd not understand the difference anyway. And asmFish is not 100% functionally equivalent pendantFish is which is btw. even a bit faster than asmFish on some machines.
And Kirin's compile as you wish to call the official Stockfish build is confirmed one of the slowest compiles (only being faster than abrok).

So, official stockfish is the slowest one and it will be the one representing as stockfish in TCEC final. I bet Houdart will be smiling at one corner.!!

Many thanks, Marco!

As soon as Marco took over the helm of SF in June, elo started pouring in again. :) As Marco requires hard work and quality patches, testers know that, if they do not do so, their patches will not have a chance, so they work hard. So, even though Marco does not push a lot of patches himself these days, he is a boost for SF development.

Congratulations to Stephane Nicolet & Alain Savard for their eval patches, especially the couple of related to king safety, Bill Henry, for his perseverence in improving the search, and all those who have contributed in code or hardware. It was well worth it.

SF 8 seems to be another milestone in SF's path after SF 5 became strongest engine and TCEC champion, so we hope for another big success in current TCEC.

All the best for the future.

Hi Milos,

I have 3x 5930 5th Generation (6 Cores) and 2x 4770 4th generation (4 Cores). I am using for my list 1x 5930 and 2x 4770. The other machines I need for other things. In all of the systems are 3.8Ghz RAMs but here I am using standard settings from my Asus boards.

I started FCP Rating List with 4770, later the same as second system and later 5930 ... I adjust the three machines that the bench is around the same.

4770 can rund with 4.4Ghz with the Noctua coolers and without any problems. The 5930 systems can rund with 4.3Ghz with the Noctua coolers and without any problems. Electricitiy is to expensive if I am using more as 4GHz. 4Ghz is optimal after my test for electricity. Note: The three Systems I am using runs 364 days in the year without a break.

Sure here that the 5930 systems with full power RAM and overclocking and hyperthreading will give me excellent results much faster as your System (I know your system). For me most important ... fast machines for testing with 1 Core. More cores for one engine isn't important for me. I have interest to find out ... max strength with 1 core.

But after all ... all machines are older as 1 1/2 years. The 4770 systems are three years old.

All this is here not really important!
But in my conditions selection you can find pics of the systems.
And all Systems runs without 1 problem ... problems with a SSD in the last three years only. Very, very stable hardware and stable electricity invoice.

:-(

BTW:
I will give ASM Fish a chance!

Best
Frank
