As fast as 6900K and much cheaper ... I'll buy it.

Steve,
Any guestimates on the Naples chip cost?
Also, is Naples likely to be any faster for chess infinite analysis than the Ryzen 1800X?
I ask that because my Intel dual-Xeon-E5-2686-V3 (total of 36 actual cores) is slower than my Intel i7-4930k (6 cores) for infinite analysis.
The dual Xeon setup is obvious fantastic for pure parallel tasks like
Aquarium's IDeA.

Kai,
It would be great if you (or the other system experts here) could post the components of your Ryzen build when it is done.

Naples could cost ~ 1500.
32 Naples cores = 4 x 8 Zen cores.
But slower = ~ the power of 3 x 8 Zen cores = ~ the real power of Naples 32 cores.
8 Zen cores = ~ 17000 kN/s (Maybe much more after Stockfish will be tuned for Zen and Naples).
3 x 8 Zen cores = ~ 51 kN/s.
You can use 2 x 32 Naples cores = ~ 102000 kN/s.
(I hope AMD will make 4 x Naples possible like it was before with 4 x Opteron).

Based on the reviews, Ryzen is a huge triumph for you & your team. I assume that Lisa Su is on cloud 9--and rightfully so.
Can you give an approximate timeframe for the successor chip to the 1800X and possible specs?

AMD Zen 32 core(x86) AMD Naples is the codename of the server platform. 32 core. Duel socket. Two 32 core CPUs. The 32 Zen cores are tied together using AMD’s Coherent Fabric. The interconnect will support data rates of up to 100GB/s which is a lot faster than what the PCIe interface sustains (around 15GB/s). SP3 32 cores with 180W TDP (Naples) 576-Bit memory controller that utilizes up to 3200MHz DDR4 at 204.8 GB/s. This part will also utilize a 64MB L3 cache. The HSA, Heterogeneous System Architecture MCM (Multi Chip Module) that AMD is working on can give you almost seven times faster score than the traditional PCIe interface. Coherent Fabric will talk to the RAM at 100 GB/s They feature a 1.44GHz base clockspeed and 2.9GHz boost clockspeed.

This is absolutely and totally impossible.
Dual-Xeon-E5-2686-V3 is at least 3-3.5x faster in terms of sheer strength and like 4-4.5x faster in terms of nps even against OCed i7-4930k.
Even a single crippled QS Xeon-E5-2686-V3 is still significantly faster (in terms of nps) and stronger (in terms of ELO) than i7-4930k.

What do you think of this hardware Milos?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Z840-Worksta ... 1780420391?
It is 28 cores, but its components are not really that good- :) :)
