Chess analysis software

Post by jmartus »

Would be very helpful of someone made a chess analysis software for analysing games like with what chessmaster 10000 had with natural language of the moves.

Fritz has had this for a long time (see http://help.chessbase.com/Fritz/15/Eng/ ... 000017.htm).

I think he means voice commentary that you can listen to. Otherwise, yes Chessbase / Fritz has had this for years.

I used to post my wishes for such a thing, but i was asking for something much more expert than what IM Malcolm Pein did for fritz, and certainly not random comments.
But entertaining narrators are also very nice, but there should be more serious/advanced chat options too.
Even the more entertaining ones MUST be genuine to the position and not purely random.
When i used to post my wishes for such a thing, others claimed it was distracting. But for me, it sometimes even helped me concentrate! But only good if i feel it is intelligently done, and that it gave me something to think about in that position, even if it is wrong assesment.

I think chess analysis software is quite an interesting and important topic.
We make engines stronger and stronger, but we put no effort into making something that will teach us better and better.
Simple things like how Wilhelm would show patterns on the board are very helpful.
And the "Plain language" descriptions by Chessmaster were very nice.

I think a real revolution in chess for humans is not going to happen until we teach those shiny silicon beasts how to teach us.
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Double-left click on the engine name then go to the "UCI" tab then at bottom change the "max CPU cores".

Yes, I know I enjoy listening to and watching strong commentary of GM/Computer games. Dosen't matter if it's on Youtube or a Chessbase/Fritz Trainer series. It would be nice if a computer could generate similar voice commentary.
