Yes, I think any chess entity of today can still lose a game because of this, no matter how long is the time control. Perceived draw death is caused by lazy people that never try to go beyond their opponent's horizon.
Of course any entity can lose a game because of a too short search horizon, but as for openings and draw death, that's not a good example to avoid draws in high class computer chess or even corr.
Can you give an at least probably winning line after the sac?
Peter.

Hello folks, i'm back after some time off. Beautiful conversion by leela. The king infiltration is just astonishing.

Leela net 384x30-swa-3972000 defeats SF Dev.

Hi Jon!
Good to have you back!

In this case, it just wasn't good to give away a move for nothing and for no reason, when King attack was already waiting to start by all means.
:)

I had the correct continuation already here with the correct move counting.

That is totally correct, Bd5 and actually any bishop move is a blunder. Nd7 seems 100% drawn (I quickly also checked back and forth with Lc0 suggesting white moves for SF analysis).

You found that Bd5 was a blunder and the continuation should be Qg4 with your homefish.
In my homefish with 4 cores, SF cant find it after 10 min( around 3 billion nodes+).
Btw, depth was crazy impressive depth 48/92+, I have never expected such depth in common hardware.

No, I found that Bd5 was a blunder and the continuation should be Nd7.
And, if you had read my posting more carefully, (you even quoted the sentence, it's just above the first diagram) you'd have seen that I wrote, the output of my homefish was after some Backward.
Having noticed that, you'd have not have to wonder so much about the depth and nodes.

Any good winning chances after 12....Nd7 as for your pov? Some output of your homeleela to the position shown in second dia? Nevermind doing some Forward-Backward too, as I did with my homefish, if you think, that helps as for LC0 to evaluate moves any better then without Forward-Backward, as for moves, it doesn't bring up on its own.
:)

A closer look at the "Leela Gambit" shows black winning hands down with proper play....but of course white's attack is somewhat dangerous... :)

Your proper play shows the revival of 12...Bd5? as mainline.
Hip hip hurray!
:)
Let's have a closer look to you side line 12...Nd7, made it the only one here, guess we don't have to discuss the same blunder 12...Bd5? over and over again, have we?

Of course 16.Qh3? is blunder, but it's your blunder with White, isn't it?
16.d5 instead is very drawish again as 12...Nd7 is anyhow, if White (and Black) doesn't blunder, like in your line it did already with

Sitll on Black's side.

White's first blunder was your 13.Nf3(?1) already, at least it's no better than the 13.Nh3, I had in my output- line after 12...Nd7 already.

White's chances to win that after your 13.Nf3(?!) instead of Nh3 are gone and its chances to get a half point are lesser or at least not any better.

Because you surely trust LC0 here more than SF, let's ask Leela again:

Prefering 13.Nh3 too and not so much of a winning eval neither, is it? And at the end of the line it's drawn too.

My oh my, what a great refutation of yours of the refutation of "Leela Gambit" by 12...Nd7. Simply playing 12...Bd5? only with Black and the gambit's fine for White again.
:)
Let's get serious, to give away a rook after 8 moves without any concrete winning plan for just compensation to draw, that's not the meaning of a gambit for White. If Black does give a Rook for a Knight to come into drawish positions so early, it's ok, but for White it's just giving away of the advantage of the first move.
That's all from my side now, as long as there doesn't come along any better refutation of the refutation than this one of yours.
Peter.
