Yes! NNUE is like the 6 gun of the old west. It makes all equal. The only difference I see is the pruning. And Stockfish my have the better of it here.lkaufman wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 7:31 pmWow, 18 out of 18 games drawn now. I thought that chess960 led to significantly fewer draws than normal chess, it clearly does in human play and in CCRL testing. But apparently at this level it just doesn't make enough difference. Chess 960 (FRC) may be the solution to preparation, but it apparently is not the solution to the draw problem. I was a strong proponent of 960, but I may have to adjust my opinion.Modern Times wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 4:42 amStill time for some decided games, but I could be wrong here. We might end up with another 50 draws.

Amazing, only one decisive game out of forty, and this is chess 960, the supposed antidote to all the draws from the Berlin defense and other defenses analyzed to a draw! With such engines available to all, how does anyone play correspondence chess anymore?
Komodo rules!

It would be interesting to see at this level of play with today's best engine. And 90m + 30s and chess 960. If I double the processing power to one engine, what gains would be seen. My guess is not much.lkaufman wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 4:40 amAmazing, only one decisive game out of forty, and this is chess 960, the supposed antidote to all the draws from the Berlin defense and other defenses analyzed to a draw! That will be the next test.

These engines are incredibly close in Elo, we have a long time control and big hardware. There were never going to be any miracles. I'd hoped for more than just one decided game though !

We are down to the last game. Playing game 50. Stockfish leads by +1 in 49 games.Modern Times wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 2:37 pmThese engines are incredibly close in Elo, we have a long time control and big hardware. NNUE is very strange. I am going to play Stockfish NNUE vs Stockfish NNUE. Same time controls, but give one Stockfish NNUE x2 the speed or time. And I have a feeling we will not see much gain. But this needs to be tested to see what is going on with the games with the NNUE engines.
