Another suggestion, show the engine's id name.

Thanks, I'll add the initial isready / readyok cycle to my todo list. As for the engine name, not sure I can really squeeze it in nicely.

Can you elaborate on what is missing in Nibbler from your estimation to make it suitable for mega-serious grandmaster types? Have you had feedback on this from such GM's?

There was a stream not so long ago where Anish Giri said he had tried "a special GUI for Leela" and had found it inconvenient. I can't recall if he said exactly why. Some things I know about:
  • It especially lacks multi-game PGN saving and comment display.
  • The comments it saves could be better.
  • It lacks support for arbitrary UCI options; it has only the hardcoded ones I've chosen.
  • Some options should obviously be sliders or input boxes, not a long list of menu items...
  • It lacks a position editor (unless you count pasting a FEN).
  • As an Electron app, it is relatively "heavy" in terms of size and resource usage.
  • My PGN parsing speed is almost certainly terrible.
  • Switching engines can be inconvenient.
Nevertheless I am fairly happy with it, it's been my project for almost 2 years now.

"Name unknown" does give me a certain air of mystery.

But in reality all know who Superman is.
Maybe I am the only one without the information.

If not, why not a mystery for all of us.
The english "Mr. X" for Nibbles, means Nibbler!

But be sure, in computer chess a lot of "Sherlock Holmes like users" are underway!

Thanks again for your work Mr. X with 3x !!!

Well I would caution such hypothetical sleuths that I am not the only person on the internet to use this name, which is from a novel.

My A/B engine does not support WDL but nibbler displayed evaluation in WDL.

Is there a way to display in centipawn?
This is version 1.8.1.

For the infobox on the right, yes, there is centipawns in Display --> Infobox stats

For the board itself, there is no CP option at this time. For one thing, it wouldn't really fit.

If the engine doesn't support WDL or similar Leelaish things, the winrate is inferred from CP by a fairly crude formula.
