Hi there,
I need a bit help from the community?!
I think I start the next FCP Tourney-2022 on two different systems.
Intel i9-10900 with 4.4 Ghz (x 10 cores) and AMD Ryzen 9 5950x with 4.4 Ghz (x 16 cores).
With 26 x 4.4 Ghz cores 41.000x 40 moves in 14 minutes are faster ready.
News 02:
https://www.amateurschach.de/main/_fcp-tourney-2022.htm
Problems:
1. The tournament via Shredder GUI will run over network. System will load via network the *.sto tournament file for next games.
In this case I have to config AVX versions from available engines because BMI2 can be used by Intel only? Or? Both system must be run with same executable via network!!
2. I am not the Lc0 expert, for DNN processor configuration all seems to be quite clearly for me.
How I should config the engine on RTX 3070 Ti graphic card, inside the AMD system.
3. 41 engines, 41000 games, 2000 games per engine!
I think I have to config a tourney with 40 engines via network and a second tourney "round-robin", vs. 40 opponents for Lc0. In my Intel system is a Radeon graphic card. The reasons I have to start it separate.
I believe the graphic card is to strong if I gave the full power from RTX 3070 Ti if the other 40 engines will run on 1 core with 4.4Ghz. So I need the right configuration for Lc0.
Best
Frank

Re: Need help, engine configuration and Lc0 settings!
Correction:
The AMD system have to run with 15 / 16 Cores (need one core for the separte Lc0 round-robin, 40 engines vs. Lc0).
The advantage:
FCP Tourney-2021 with 10x i9 4.9Ghz cores (40 moves in 12 minutes) = 260 games per day
FCP Tourney-2022 with 10x i9 4.4Ghz cores (40 moves in 14 minutes) + 15x R9 4.4Ghz Cores + 1x grafic-card = 580 games per day.
41.000 games : 580 games per day ~ 70 days runtime without resign mode.
With resign = off (move average ~ 87 moves).
With resign = on (move average ~ 72 moves) = 700 games per day ~ 58 days runtime.
With or without resing mode is unclear for me.
Normally all games I produced in the past are allways with resign = off.
Maybe I should play the next FCP-Tournament with resign=on?

Configuring Lc0 for your system will best be handled interactively.
Accordingly, suggest joining the Lc0 Discord and asking in the #help channel.

The Ryzen 5950X (Zen 3) can use BMI2 exes with good performance. It was the older Zen2 that where it was not recommended to run BMI2.Frank Quisinsky wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 1:09 pm In this case I have to config AVX versions from available engines because BMI2 can be used by Intel only? Hi brianr,
what I do in the past and today for computer chess is a big different.
Today I do nothing!
FCP Tourneys are fun pure, not more not less.
If programmers can find information ... good!
The work around statistics with Klaus is the biggest event for me.
Like to looking more chess games as news on TV.
The news around the World make me sad, most of all the news I dislike comes from the own country.
If I have the new AMD system I will check the link.
Thank you!
Hi Modern Times,
new for me that ZEN3 can use BMI2.
Your message is a "Good news" for me because I don't lose time with testing.
If I had AMD systems at home (professional work) I am looking on the "modern executable" from Wasp only.
Never a topic for me in the past.
Thank you!
