Koivisto might need a non-SF opponent

Hi Andrew,

Produces an aggressive group formation between the programmers. Arguments were exchanged some time ago.
Enjoy the good reputation you have or the first-class work you do.

Goold luck for FCP Tourney-2022.

Hi Jouni,

let us speak about it after 400 or more games.

Seems that the programmers of Koivisto are able to beat, maybe with time, Stockfish & Komodo.
The days are numbered. But Andrew, Jonathan and many others can do it too.
I am very sure that Stockfish will not end of time on place 1, on the other hand why not.
I like Stockfish and the playing style.

Koivisto is development in big steps!!
Nordish power!

I like these engines very much and recently ran some matches.
Koivisto and Fire are very close in strength, but Koivisto (like SF) searches quite a bit deeper than Fire.
It also scores the startposition quite high compared to most engines.

I believe it's this wider search (same # nodes in less depth) along with it's excellent Sergio V. RL NNUE that helps makes Fire so interesting and strong.

Well, I guess you know it just uses a renamed nnue file created by Sergio Vieri for Stockfish? (besides all other SF code recycling...)

Stockfish 11 or Stockfish Classic is more Koivisto level.

Koivisto most powerful and interesting engine that I see currently out there.
Surely its ahead of E13.25, and even the newer stuff I have that is not released.
And therefore is ahead of pretty much every engine not using a Stockfish network.
Only a handful of engines above it.

It definitely is ahead of Ethereal 13.25, as Koivisto 7.0 is around Ethereal 13.25 according to the rating lists, and Koivisto has gained at least 33 elo since 7.0 according to the regression tests on the Koivisto github wiki.

I would suspect that regression test is wildly over blown, due to the opening book and TC.
But I do agree anyway
