Another fake news: in Linux it is possible to set non-UTF-8 locales.
And most important, regardless of the locale set, text editors are able to view, edit and create text files in different encodings.

OK, for those that are slow of mind then:

XBoard of course uses the encoding specified by the locale. Which in the part of the world that uses latin script will almost exclusively be set to UTF-8.

Maybe you too should also reread what you posted.
Fulvio is nuance trolling. Ignoring everything said before or after - because he misinterpreted a sentence and isnt interested in changing his mind.
If I were a moderator there would be something to stop the trolls :twisted:
