Fritz 18 still without NNUE?

I am more concerned with the GUI Fritz. It is known that many versions of the Flitz program have come out. I have other versions of the Fritz program at home and I wonder if it is worth buying a new version of the program.

Fritz 11 is still the best GUI, before Chessbase switched to ribbons, Fritz 12 has the last actual version of Fritz before Chessbase decided to rebrand other engines (and there are better free engines to use as a sparring partner/deep analysis like Seer and Weiss), and Fritz 17 comes with Lc0. Evolving Genius is Gingko exclusive, so it really isn't worth the purchase, especially if you already own an older version of Fritz.

Absolutely BanksiaGui, even in beta. Win, Mac, Linux, iPadOS, iOS you can change look as you like, organize all infos moving, resizing, removing frames and it's full of features (especially related to engine tournaments management) that no other gui has. Eg which games to run first in the tournament when you add a new engine.

To be fair, Fritz and Banksia are targeted at very different users. If you are running engine testing, Banksia has lots to offer. If you play against humans, Banksia has some useful features, but that part is far less mature than its engine vs engine feature set.

+1 Banksiagui 0.52b is finally stable for tournament management, Pham is working hard to fix other issues and improve database features but I'll never return back to Arena 3.5.1 or to the very limited Fritz tournament management.

Don't judge Banksiagui by the default graphic. You can fully customize it as you like or you need, not only the pieces and the chessboard.

This is an example of MY configuration, running an engine tournament of 3000 games between 75 top engines. It worths to spend a lot of time to test all the options so it will exactly meet your expectations

Fritz 8 was the first with UCI support, and if I recall, the uci.dll library had to be replaced for better functionality. However, you can't download it from ChessBase now.Fritz 12 is again the first with that nasty Ribbon, but newer versions of native Fritz want version 13, I think. 18 is the UCI engine, thankfully.

Instead, it would be interesting to know why. BSG is still in beta and can be improved.
