It is already more than 6 months ago that the current moderator team was elected, which means that the term for which the current team was elected has expired.

It is time to resume the process of running these elections.
If users are not able to access the forums, then they also have no interest in who moderates them.
Please begin the process immediately, using the already nominated members.

That shows how well you understand the problem... :o

I would like my representation now rather than later. If those who can't see the forums want new elections at another date, so be it. Until then, why are we sitting here as the forum nose dives?

Fourth time in two days I tried replying to this, the other three vanished into the forbidden 493 abyss.
Some moderator nominees have such random access to the forum, probably those in Europe, or at least not in US, that posting, access etc etc is impractical for the time being. First priority is a reliable forum platform, moderating, posting, reading, elections are unrealistic until that.

Can't have an election when half of the candidates for the moderators and much of Europe have trouble accessing this forum, and if they do manage to get access to this forum they frequently and randomly get logged off by the system after a few minutes.

Therefore leaving the host is a solution.
Otherwise it is catch 22.

If we remain here in this dead end street, we can never change the situation of ip banning and forbidden xyz messages.

Deja Vu. HGM was making some progress with the task force, but then we had a little Rebellion (pun intended). Not sure founders/moderators/admins/Quentin are all on the same page. Without this, moving to a new provider may not be possible.

I have the sense HGM may have given up in frustration. See here and elsewhere for context: forum3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=78193&p=9056 ... ry#p905688

You got that right. I am no longer working on this. There was too much obstruction, and my time is more fruitfully spent in areas were people don't sabotage my efforts.

Besides, I for a long time I had the impression the problem was solved, because it was solved for me. It seems it still persists for others, and to my dismay I even had a few 403's myself last week, for a few minutes in two successive days. That was especially annoying since I was trying to perform moderation acts at the times it struck.

For reasons I don't fully understand the owner (despite the voluminous complaints and the energy he invested to fix it) isn't willing to handover the domain to us the community. And so I gave up months ago. Sadly the good work HGM did was for nothing and likely the problem will always be among us.
