Any dedicated chess computer is a good chess computer.
What seems like a fairy tale today may be reality tomorrow.
Here we have a fairy tale of the day after tomorrow....

Hi Thorsten,

I like the new module.
Engine-Engine match is possible for an example and very easy.

Colossus vs. Wasp for an example!

:-)

Tomorrow I will added pics from DGT Centaur Crystal with Wasp.
So many nice projects are still running.
Unfortunatley, the day have 24 hours only.

Hi Frank

Nice project 👍

Are you going to sell the new module and if so how much?

Also, how about a Colossus module?

Regards
Bryan

Hi Bryan,

think so but I can nothing say about prices.
I am not the developer, maybe the person who gave the inspiration for this project.

Alex is working since a while on the project and it isn't ready.

Not Wasp only is running on this module.
Speaking from Coloussus only because I know that Thorsten like this engine a lot.

I will give some more information if I have or the project is ready for a beta-test.

Yesterday in the evening I can test it a bit only and had a long discussion with Alex.
We had here a lot of fun and I am very surprised about the work.

I told him that it's time to add first information in www after all I can see.
Not more not less ...

Please have patience!

Hi Bryan,

I forgot ...
I saw Rodent, Stockfish other engines.

Alex have no interest to sell engines.
To sell the technique ... the module is for him interesting.

Which engines customers can install, perhaps with an open-source idea in background ... I don't know.
Sure, he will thinking about it if he is ready for take-off.

Ah, John know about the project.
All the time Alex developed (interface programming, works hard on the electronic) and tested different things with Wasp as main program.

Rodent vs. Wasp on this Mephisto board via Eng-Eng is very nice to see.

Enough ...
Really, I can't give more information but as early as possible I can do if I have the OK from Alex.
It's a very nice topic for Wasp-News and I am very happy about every new idea in selection: Chess Computers!

Hi Frank

Excellent project Alex ? has produced for himself. I hope that he will eventually provide more information about it.

I am presently converting my DGT Centaur into a "ModiPi Romulus" which now includes Wasp, CT800 and a selection of good old chess computer ROMS.

I wish John hadn't changed the name of Zarkov to Wasp. Zarkov was such an iconic chess engine that the name deserved to be retained and built upon.

Regards
Bryan

Hi Bryan,

thinking at first the same (Zarkov - Wasp).
But the old Zarkov never lost and today the name "Wasp" I like a lot.

I have also such an Centaur Crystal.
With Wasp 4.5 and Wasp 5, CT800.
I like CT800 for self playing, of course most I like Wasp.
Dirk do it for me, today in the late afternoon I will added some pics on Wasp-News.

The idea with adaptive playing strength for Stockfish is really bad - more as bad - in my humble opinion.
So the Centaur have a much better face and I like it a lot.

Thank you!
Again, if I have more information about the new module ... sure you will find it at schachcomputer.info.
Later a prototyp will be send to the admin Micha ... is the better site for such information as TalkChess or Wasp-News.

Have fun Bryan!
Better ... let us all together have fun with all the old chess computers and the new ideas around it.
And let us celebrate the strong chess-computer community!!

Best
Frank

PS: Alex have all possibilities for make a good marketing or the production for an example. If not, I can help him with connections. But after all I know, not necessarey.

Centaur Crystal:
The "Paper-Display" is very slow.
More or less a fun chess-computer, but with Wasp much better.

Nothing is perfect but the way to do a bit is every time interesting!!
Enough ...

Cool project! Can you say something about the specs? What CPU, how much RAM, does it run Linux?
