if you put standar.nnue in the config everything works fine!

Yes a fantastic surprise.
I am very happy and feel very good now.

These years with only komodo and stockfish were dark ages.

Then came ethereal, and others. And now hiarcs.
Maybe shredder soon.

And lets hope ed schroeder also comes back.

We need more light now in computerchess, in this dark winter of covid pandemic desease our computerchess hobby is the light we need.

Thanks Mark Uniacke.
Now we can find out about all the differences from version 14 to 15.
Test it against latest WASP or other engines.

I love computerchess.

I have few issues with it. The Dragon chess engine plays inconsistently. Sometimes it plays too strong even though I choose low difficulty. It often makes mistakes as a beginner on higher difficulties.
You know, humans do not play 'consistently' either. Otherwise, we would never beat/lose to those lower/higher rated than us. I've dropped pawns before, overlooked things...Magnus does as well, only he is good at generating compensation. Now OFTEN...yes, that might be a problem.

I do not envy programmers trying to dumb down their programs...I think they may have too few tools in their arsenal but at least some are trying.

Regarding the INSTANT MOVE issue, I totally agree...about everyone seems to.

Ideal might be to be able to simply set as 'normal' for an engine to move ever 5 sec, 15 sec, etc...perhaps (or not) depending on once it is 'out of book'. To not have a feature like this basically destroys any effort to dumb it down as the whole experience is too artifical.

What are you guys ranting about? Hiarcs Chess Pro is chess database software. The engine is just a bonus feature. The price is for the database features, including support for very fast load and search times for very large databases. And for support of ChessBase opening books and databases (converted to faster HCE format).

96% (yes, I've done a through study.... )of the people who frequent this place are only interested in pushing engines around against other engines and thinking THEY have accomplished something.

But seriously, you are absolutely right.

I just want to test the H15 engine for a few days and have a little nostalgia feeling with it. For that I don't buy a complete package that I don't need. If the engine is just a small bonus, why are engine lovers being forced to buy these packages?
