Protej compilations

Post by Guenther »

@Alex the author of Protej:

All Protej versions since 0.5.9 crash here on my old computer.
It has SSE4.1 but no popcount. Thus I guess they are all compiled for hardware popcount.

It would be nice to have nopop compilations for the last versions.

Rubichess has a bug. He's losing on time at 15+10. It seems to disengage prematurely at times. There's more losses on time, but he's already been beaten in the other ones anyway.

PGN is useless. I need a log with the UCI communication of such a game with a time loss. If your GUI doesn't support this option, I can provide an actual binary that has build in logging option.

Feel free to contact me via PM or better Github if possible to keep this thread clean.

Hi there,

here an endgame bug from Bit-Genie 9.19 dev.
In 15 of 1120 games Bit-Genie give not mate, games ended with draw.

7.5 points more = 11 Elo
http://www.amateurschach.de/download/bi ... roblem.zip

Games are from my FCP Tourney-KI (without resign-mode).

You can download binaries for SSE, AVX2, and AVX512 (Windows & Linux) and read more information (in Russian) here:
http://sdchess.ru/news.htm
With or w/o source code?
I only know what is shared on the page of Sergey and Dmitry Kudryavtsev (sdchess.ru). Only binaries are posted there. I'll ask them if the author provides the source code.
Well, Uralochka before was around 2200 (CCRL Blitz + Rapid) and single threaded w/o syzygy or any tablebase support,
now it has all of this and over 3200? Why should I trust it w/o source and zero infos, also about the used NN inside?
(ofc I can check the binary and will do so anyway - despite even the sse version does not run here, probably because it demands HW popcnt)

I don't say there must be something wrong with it, but I prefer to be cautious here.
Uralochka and its predecessor FreeChess were Pascal programs (and source available!) BTW, compiled with a Borland compiler now it's
compiled with an older GCC 8.4.0.
